CRCH Receives $850,000 to Help With Expansion

Great news!  Thanks to the support of our entire legislative delegation and Governor Healey, we are happy and grateful to announce that we have received an $850,000 appropriation for Charles River Community Health!  Much of this funding will support our upcoming physical expansion.  As we recently shared, we’re planning to open 7 new exam rooms on our medical floor at our Brighton location. Several years ago, these exam rooms were framed out, doors were purchased, and air conditioning and plumbing were installed. Thanks to this appropriation, we are in a position to finish the project which will enable us to hire more providers and expand access to care at an affordable price.  The appropriation is critical to our participation in the Beth Israel Lahey Health primary care residency program so we can help develop the next generation of primary care providers, some of whom we hope will serve at the health center in both our Brighton and Waltham locations after their training is over.  The appropriation is funded by the revenue from the Fair Share amendment (also known as the “millionaire’s tax”).

There are many people to thank for their support in helping us to receive these critical funds especially House Majority Leader Mike Moran; Representative Kevin Honan, Representative John Lawn, Representative Tom Stanley, Senator Will Brownsberger, and Senator Michael Barrett; leadership of the House and Senate Ways and Means Committees; Speaker Mariano and Senate President Spilka; and, all the capable and hard-working staff who support these leaders and our community.
